Volunteers needed
We are in need of flaggers for the Ride. If you'd like to volunteer as a flagger and do the ride, we will comp your registration fee. Basically, your job is to alert drivers at dangerous intersections that there are cyclists on the road. You would ride to your post, and then after the majority of riders have gone through that area, you would complete the ride. One of our sag drivers or motorcycle team would let you know when you can leave. Please contact me or Lori Nowlin if you're interseted. You may contact either us at lnowlin@akinsnowlin.com or lu.shannon@augmentix.com. There's also plenty of other volunteer opportunities available. Just go to www.redpoppyride.org and you'll see a place on the bottom right of the home page where you can click to volunteer. You don't have to be a cyclist to volunteer - if you have a spouse, friend, relative, etc., who would like to volunteer, they are more than welcome. Volunteers who work at the ride receive a Red Poppy T-Shirt. We've got a really neat new design this year in a wicking fabric that you don't want to miss! Your help would be greatly appreciated!
